WOCAP FUND is an investment fund that provides working capital financing to MSMEs in CARICOM/CARIFORUM. The WOCAP FUND addresses the lack of access to credit for the vast creditworthy but underserved entrepreneurial segment in the Caribbean region. The WoCapFinSuite™ platform is ideally positioned to facilitate the delivery of working capital financing by WOCAP FUND to a pool of micro, small and medium enterprises
Investment Approvals
Investment decisions are made by an investment board composed of highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in MSME financing and shepherding, A2F consulting, corporate finance, risk management, multi-lateral development financing, private equity and angel investing.
Investment decisions are facilitated by WoCapFinSuite™, which is an integrated online financing platform that includes credit risk assessment and management, financial software solutions, working capital and medium-term financing facilitation.
The Fund mitigates investment risks by undertaking a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the market as well as the client and selectively provides funding to those business opportunities that meet the established risk threshold. To insure that the repayment of the facilities are made as arranged, the Fund takes an assignment of receivables related to confirmed and approved invoices with the buyer’s risk also being evaluated.
“My extensive experience in the Region brought to light the difficulties that MSMEs faced with respect to accessing working capital financing needed for them to grow their businesses.
Consequently, the WOCAP FUND and the related WoCapFinSuite™ were developed to provide an efficient solution for resolving many of the difficulties being faced by these MSMEs and more specifically women-owned businesses, which seemed to be more severely impacted.”
